Summary of PIP Activities

PIP is a technical assistance programme funded by the European Development Fund. It is designed to help African-Caribbean-Pacific (ACP) producers and exporters of fresh fruit and vegetables overcome the difficulties they face in accessing European markets.
It addresses EU regulations including pesticide maximum residue limits, food hygiene, and traceability.

In addition it helps ACP suppliers meet the private standards and requirements demanded by European buyers including certification schemes for food safety and Good Agricultural Practice, as well as social and environmental initiatives.
If and when needed in the future, PIP will adapt to address new related demands that may emanate from EU markets.
