New regulation replacing Directive 91/414/EEC

New legislation regulating the sale and supply of pesticide active substances (replacing Directive 91/414/EEC) has recently been adopted.  The Plant Protection Products Regulation (Regulation EC 1107/2009) came into force on 14 December 2009, and applied from 14 June 2011. 

The European Commission published all regulations relating to this new legislation on 11th June 2011. This includes Regulation (EU) 540/2011 of 25th May, and Regulation 541/2011 of 1st June, introducing slight amendments to the text and providing an update of Annex 1, listing the 353 active substances authorized in the EU at this time.
