PIP Phase 2 launch events are a great success and receive excellent press coverage
A large number of supply chain players in the fruit and vegetable sector took part in the PIP Phase 2 launch workshops in Senegal (9 March), Burkina Faso (11 March), Kenya (25 March), Uganda (30 March) and Ivory Coast (29 April). The events were very well publicised by the local press (newspapers, radio and television), helping to disseminate information about the programme to potential beneficiaries, and ensuring the continued visibility of this European cooperation programme.
The workshops provided an opportunity for the COLEACP-PIP Team to give a recap of the programme “modus operandi”, as well as an overview of new topics (environment, ethical production, sustainable development, etc.) and the support mechanisms that will be used to address them.
During inaugural speeches at these events, representatives of both the European Union and local government authorities were very enthusiastic, positive and supportive of PIP activities.
